Robert S. Adelson (Managing Partner)
Bob founded Osage Investments in 1990 and has built a track record as a top-performing venture investor, consistently delivering top-decile returns on his venture investments. He is a native of Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he is a partner in a fourth generation family business. Prior to founding Osage, Bob clerked with the honorable Walter K. Stapleton, U.S. Third Circuit Court of Appeals, and practiced corporate law at the Philadelphia law firm of Wolf, Block, Schorr & Solis-Cohen. Bob's previous venture investments include Zany Brainy, Inphonic (NASDAQ: INPC), Internet Capital Group (NASDAQ: ICGE), and GHR Systems (acquired by Metavante). He is a graduate of The Yale Law School and of Yale College. Bob is a trustee of Jefferson University Hospital, where he currently serves as Chairman of the Board, Jefferson University, and Jefferson Health System. He is also President of the Board of Trustees of The Philadelphia School and is a member of The Yale Law School Fund.
He serves on the Board of Directors of Melior Discovery, SevOne, and Redlasso, and is Chairman of Melior Discovery.
Bob resides in Merion, PA, with his wife Marta and his two daughters and son.
Nathanael V. Lentz (Managing Partner)
Nate joined Osage Partners in 2008 having previously been the President and CEO of Verticalnet, Inc., a leading provider of on-demand supply management software solutions, which was sold in January, 2008 to Italy-based BravoSolution. He served as the Malvern, PA- based Verticalnet's CEO for over five years and was attributed with leading the transformation of Verticalnet from an online operator of web portals to a proven software solution provider, while navigating the company through a financial turnaround and ultimately a successful exit. Prior to Verticalnet, Nate was a Partner at Mercer Management Consulting and led both the San Francisco and the Hong Kong offices. During his time at Mercer, he worked closely with multinational companies and high growth emerging businesses both in the U.S. and in over fifteen countries across Asia, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Nate began his career at Chemical Bank in New York providing lending and structured finance services to mid-size companies. He is a graduate of Brown University and of the Stanford Graduate School of Business where he graduated with honors.
He serves on the Board of Directors of Carnegie Speech, Landslide Technologies, Inc., InstaMed, Hard Metrics, ProtonMedia and FieldView.
Nate resides in Philadelphia, PA, with his wife Suzanne and his two sons and daughter.
Marc Singer (Managing Partner)
Marc joined Osage in 2008 as a fifteen year veteran in venture capital industry. Marc was previously a General Partner of BEV Capital, an early stage venture capital firm he co-founded in 1997. Over the last ten years Marc helped BEV raise and invest over $200M in over 40 companies and co-invested with over 100 other venture capital firms. Marc managed or co-managed eighteen of BEV's investments, served as an active board member and/or Chairman for the majority of his investments, and successfully managed multiple companies from start-up through IPO or trade sale. Prior to co-founding BEV in 1997, Marc worked at Consumer Venture Partners, another venture capital firm which he joined in 1993. Marc earned his BS from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Marc resides in Penn Valley, PA with his wife Leah and three children.
Louis Berneman (Founding Partner, Osage University Partners)
Louis developed the original concept for Osage University Partners, based on his 15+ years of experience managing technology transfer offices on behalf of universities. Lou is currently the Principal of Texelerate, a technology transfer consultancy he formed in 2005 to assist academic institutions in monetizing their intellectual property assets. He is the former Managing Director of the Center for Technology Transfer of the University of Pennsylvania and the former Director of Licensing and Business Development for Virginias Center for Innovative Technology. Lou is a Past President of AUTM (Association of University Technology Managers) and long standing active member of LES (Licensing Executives Society). He has been a founder, director, and/or President of several start-ups including Biotherapeutics, Inc., InnoTech, and TMune Therapeutics.
Lou resides in Philadelphia, PA with his wife Harriet.
David Drahms (Vice President)
David joined Osage in 2005 and is involved in several venture organizations, including the MAC Alliance, Early Stage East and the 3 Rivers Venture Fair. Prior to Osage, he worked at Teradyne, Inc., a Boston-based manufacturer of semiconductor test equipment, where he was a mechanical engineer before becoming a project manager.
David led the firm's investment in Yaupon Therapeutics, where he serves on the company's Board of Directors. He is also a board observer of FieldView, InstaMed, Melior Discovery, HardMetrics and ProtonMedia.
He is a native of Savannah, NY, and graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Rochester and an MBA from The Wharton School.
David resides in Philadelphia, PA.
Melissa Burns (Associate)
Melissa joined Osage in 2009. Prior to Osage, she was Director of Strategy and Marketing at San Francisco-based consumer electronics company Joby, Inc. Before Joby, she worked as a consultant at Mercer Management Consulting in San Francisco. She is a graduate of Stanford University with a degree in Economics.
Melissa resides in King of Prussia, PA with her husband Dev.
Sudip Chakrabarti (Associate)
Sudip joined Osage in 2009. Previously, he was an entrepreneur, engineer and a product manager in the technology industry. As a PhD student at Georgia Tech, Sudip started a software company to commercialize his doctoral research in semiconductor testing algorithms. He also cofounded a startup to develop a pioneering analytic platform for retailers based on the cloud computing infrastructure. Sudip served as a Senior Advisor on the University of Pennsylvania’s Innovation Fund committee that acts as an in-house venture fund for companies originating from the university.
Sudip holds a PhD in Computer Engineering from Georgia Tech, a B.Tech in Electronics Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, and an MBA (honors) with a dual major in Entrepreneurial Management and Finance from The Wharton School where he was a Joseph Wharton fellow.
Sudip resides in Philadelphia, PA with his wife Arpita.
Martin Lehr (Associate)
Martin joined Osage in 2009. Prior to joining Osage University Partners, Martin conducted research in the areas of DNA repair at the Sloan-Kettering Institute and in thrombin activation at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Martin holds a MA in Biotechnology from Columbia University, and a BA in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
